At Mararoa School we teach children from new entrants to year 8. These year groups are spread between 3 classes, each with their own age-appropriate resources and classroom environments.
One of the many things which make our school special is the variety of whole school activities we do each year and the involvement of our parents, which make all of these possible. Every year in addition to class camps and trips, the whole school participates in a range of school wide activities including inter-house activities and events.
Each year the whole school participates together in activities such as daily fitness programmes, athletics training, gym skills, winter sports and musical productions, as well as regular community events such as the local schools’ Pet Show, Speech competitions and the Kids Restore the Kepler programmes, and we are active participants in our local Kahui Ako.
As a school, we are committed to ensuring that our children receive a broad range of educational experiences. Our Year 7 & 8 students participate in a full and varied leadership programme to further develop and consolidate their skills including a biannual Leadership Camp in Auckland.
At Mararoa we have excellent facilities and curriculum resources, which are well used as part of our teaching programmes.

Parents
We feel very fortunate to have our children attend/have attended Mararoa School. They have benefited from a learning culture where the teachers have very high expectations of them, where the teachers and staff genuinely care for their well being, awesome technology and facilities and multi level classrooms. Kids are encouraged to participate fully, think independently, care for themselves, others and the environment. It's a great, safe place with a very open door, approachable team.
Parents
From 2001 to 2017 we have had 3 boys go to Mararoa School. We found the schools progressive learning and nurturing atmosphere with strong values a great start for our boys. From early learning to sporting, academic and social awareness, all of our boys have commented how much they appreciated Mararoa School after they had left, with fun interaction with the teachers and the great friendships they made at Mararoa. The School was very approachable and supportive of us as parents.
