NYLD Auckland
Last week the Year 7 & 8's attended the National Young Leaders Conference in Auckland. They flew out of Queenstown early on Tuesday morning to make their way into Auckland City, checking in for the week.
Soon after it was Girls vs Boys in a battle of wits at the Escape Masters Bank Heist Escape Room, girls escaping in 62 minutes - (6 minutes faster than the boys!).
Day 2 saw our students learning to navigate themselves using the train system, so we could get from the CBD to Manukau for National Young Leaders Day. Once there students heard inspiring speakers and their stories. Later, it was time to see the sights from the top of the Sky Tower , before enjoying dinner together at Fortuna, Sky City.
Day 3 of Leadership Camp had the students learning about the world in a variety of ways. We explored SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton's Aquarium , the Auckland Museum and took in the Bright Lights festival on the Viaduct.
Thank you to the Te Anau Lions who donated towards the students educational activities.
Day 4 of Leadership Camp meant travelling South to find all the wild and wonderful things at Butterfly Creek before flying back to Queenstown.
