Mrs Ibbotson's Farewell

August 07, 2020 -

On August 7 we held an Official Farewell and Last Assembly for Mrs Susan Ibbotson. Susan has been on the teaching staff at Mararoa School since March 1991 and she finished at the end of term 2 this year. Unfortunately due to the Lockdown we were unable to celebrate her many years of service to the school and our community back in March, so we were lucky to be able to invite her and her husband Ross back to Mararoa on August 7 to give her a proper send off.
There were some tears and also laughter as three of Mrs Ibbotson's former students gave some accounts of their time at school. Ms Baigent, Mararoa School Principal presented Susan with the school's Korowai ako and her Leavers Certificate, some of Mrs Ibbotsons junior students from this year presented her with a book of her time at school, while some current senior students shared their memories.
Afternoon tea then began with Mrs Ibbotson cutting her fabulous (and delicious) farewell cake.
Thank you again Mrs Ibbotson and we wish you all the very best.
