Jack Heslip National Sharpshooter
On April 2nd we were very privileged to have Jack Heslip come and talk to us about his journey to being, at present, the Junior number 1 New Zealand Claybird Shooter, & 40th Junior World Champion. What an achievement!
Jack spoke about his pathway to where he is, and shared his goal of representing NZ in the 2032 Australian Olympics. Watch this space as Jack is certainly going places! Point 3 of a second is his fastest trigger time, and everytime he pulls his trigger it costs approximately $1.50.
With shooters chasing the clean streak (missing none at all in a row over different competitions), that all adds up. Jack had a fellow shooter who was on a 600plus clean streak! In Christchurch recently Jack shot at 565 targets, only missing an impressive 8. Jack was a delight to listen to, and really engaged the students.
We wish Jack all the best for his upcoming adventures, and we look forward to a whole school trip to come see you in action at Balfour next year.
