Today, we had a fantastic day at the Rakatu Wetlands with Clair and Roger.
Through a fun scavenger hunt, we discovered lots of interesting facts about the wetlands and the important role they play in our environment.
We enjoyed getting up close to trout and tuna (eels), learning more about the wildlife that calls the wetlands home.
To finish the day, we rolled up our sleeves and planted flax, helping to care for this special place.
As part of our inquiry learning, we will continue exploring ways we can protect and look after our wetlands. Today was a wonderful example of our school value of Caring for the Environment in action.
